The Eva Collection was our first attempt at a designer laptop skin. When coming up with the design, we knew we wanted it to be floral with a retro feel to it. We found an amazing designer who was able to really create just what we were looking for. We got the name Eva because we actually named it after the designer. When it came to the images, we wanted to try something new so we decided to use a model. The images ended up being way different than our usual bright on white style but I think it really worked for this collection. It is still our best selling designer laptop skin and since the launch of the skin, we have released a crystal computer mouse to match.

The image above was used for our homepage when the Eva Collection was released. The image below was used for promoting the Eva Collection.

The Personalized Laptop Skin with Heart has been added to our lineup. This skin was only available as a custom order but can now be easily purchased online without a custom request. It’s a variation on our popular Personalized Laptop Skin, we just added a tiny heart for a touch of cuteness.

I came across a neat little shop at Etsy the other day. The guy does some amazing things with desktop computers. He custom builds cases that transform the computers into vintage masterpieces. I really like how he turned the keyboard into a vintage typewriter. Unfortunately I haven’t had a desktop in years and I’m happy with my skin on my laptop.

For all you Hello Kitty lovers – Exemode, a company in Japan, has just released a super cute, super tiny Hello Kitty portable TV. This teeny, ultra-portable device measures only about 4 inches and has a 2.4inch color screen. The battery life is about 4.5hrs and is available in pink or gold. I don’t exactly need another device to carry around but it is cute. Thanks Tokyo Kawaii.

Along with finding goodies at Etsy, you can also find some weird stuff there, too. I’ve come across products that made me laugh and products that made me say – augh. One of the blogs I like to read, Regretsy, brings it all together. Regretsy is an entertaining site that features these interesting products and adds some snarky commentary to make the whole piece even better or should I say worse. I recommend reading it if you are in need of some laughs. April Winchell, the talented writer behind Regretsy, just released a book earlier this month, Regretsy: Where DIY Meets WTF, which is getting some great reviews on Amazon. Haven’t read it yet but I read the sample pages on Amazon and think I’ll have to get myself a copy.

Etsy is one of my favorite places to shop online for gifts. It is a place where artisans sell their handmade goods and you can find just about anything there. It is amazing to see the kinds of stuff people make. There is tons of handmade jewelry, as well as clothes, greeting cards, soy candles, organic body butters, home decor items, baby items, vintage items and on and on and on. It is just the perfect place to get gifts for people. I did most of my Christmas shopping there last year. I like shopping at Etsy because you can find truly unique gifts, many of the items can be custom made just the way you want it. You can find a great gift at any price range and the shipping is also very resonable. The sellers are wonderful and are very appreciative of your purchase. Below is a sample of the kind of things you can find there.

I first saw this trend awhile back at Strapya when they were offering kits with huge rhinestones, lace, and little teddy bears. It has now evolved into this thing of making your phone look yummy. Kits are now being sold with delicious embellishments like fruits, desserts, and just about everything else. A company called Decotti even has a product that looks just like whipped cream. You can DIY but I’ve also found a few places online that will do it for you. Strapya and many places online sells kits but they also sell the whipped creams and embellishments separately so that you can create it just the way you want. This trend is not limited to only cell phones, I’ve seen it done on key chains, cell phones straps as well as compact mirrors, and jewelry – the possibilities are endless. It is very popular in Japan. The word “decoden” basically means to decorate your cell phone or anything you’d like with charms, rhinestones, etc. Google “decoden” and you’ll find tons of images on this trend.

I discovered Strapya a few years ago and fell in love. It is a wonderful place to get accessories for your cellphone as well as other cute things. You can find jewerly, accessories for your gadets, and some unusual stuff, too. Strapya is based is Japan but shipping is fairly quick and decently priced. They are constantly updating their inventory so I suggest getting on their mailing list. I like how they offer personalized charms for your cellphone. I had one with my name on it for my old phone but unfortunately my Blackberry doesn’t have a slot for charms. If your phone doesn’t have a slot for charms, you can always get it a cellphone pouch – they have a bunch of cute ones there. I do recommend if you see something you like, get it! Things go out of stock fast and they seem to take awhile to get back in stock, if they do ever get back in stock. Go check them out! Oh, and if you love Hello Kitty, you’ll love Strapya – tons of Hello Kitty cuteness!

Clear is the most popular crystal color for our Crystal Laptop Skins. It is a safe choice as it looks great on every skin color but there are many color combos that look really good together. Two of my favorite are pink on Ocean Blue and pink on Baby Pink. I like how the pink crystals pop out on the Ocean Blue and for the pink on Baby Pink…well I just like it. I think it’s simple yet cute. Another color combo I like is blue on Lime Green. After doing so many Lime Green skins lately, the combo has really grown on me. Green isn’t exactly my favorite color but I really like the bright, fun feel of the two colors together. What are some of your favorite color combos?

You can get an idea of how different color combos look or you might even see how your initials or name would look on a laptop skin.
